Le site d’Albertville a été occupé dès l’époque romaine. Depuis, situé au carrefour de quatre vallées alpines : la Combe de Savoie, la Tarantaise, le Val d’Arly et le Beaufortain, il a toujours été une terre d’échanges et de rencontres.

The site of Albertville was founded during the Roman period. Since that time, located at the heart of four alpine valleys: the Combe de Savoie, the Tarantaise, the Val d’Arly and the Beaufortain, it has always been a place of cultural exchange and ideas.

Près de l’antique cité romaine, le roi de Savoie Charles-Albert bâtit en 1836 une ville, « la ville d’Albert », qui s’est développée par les échanges entre la France, l’Italie et la Suisse.

Close to the Roman city, King Charles-Albert built a strategic city in 1836 , « the city of Albert », and it became a hub for commercial exchange between France, Italy and Switzerland.

Albertville est aussi bien connue pour ses magnifiques montagnes, ses célèbres stations de ski alentour et comme la ville qui a accueilli les Jeux Olympiques d’hiver en 1992 !

Albertville is also well known for its beautiful mountains, famous local ski resorts and more notedly as the city that welcomed the Winter Olympic Games in 1992!

En 2003, Albertville a reçu le label « Ville d’Art et d’Histoire ».

In 2003, Albertville was awarded the title of “Town of Art and History”.

Le campus du CEF est situé près du centre-ville, dans un quartier tranquille, à proximité des écoles pour les enfants, des bibliothèques et librairies, des marchés, des centres administratifs…

The CEF campus is settled right in the middle of town, in a peaceful quartier, close to children schools, libraries, bookstores, movie theaters, little markets, parks and the town hall.
